You may have seen some new Mad Mex stores pop up in recent months. That’s because we’ve been busy, amigos! The Mad Mex familia has grown by 12 restaurants in the last year alone, and we’re not resting there – we’ve going to be adding 20% more new locations in the year ahead.

If you’ve never tried this before, then we’ve got a not-so-secret secret to share with you: opening new restaurants is hard work. You’ve got a team of (awesome) rookies on the floor, excited and rearing to go, but you’ve also got to make sure that every amigo that comes through the door enjoys the full spirit of Mexico, from the service right through to the mouth-watering flavours in their world’s best burrito.

So today we’d like to introduce you to the Mad Mex Mad Team. These are the people that work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure each new Mad Mex restaurant opens in exactly the way you want it to – perfectly!

The team is led by Laura Tobey, our National Training and Development Manager. And when we’re getting ready to open a restaurant, we never see her around. That’s because Laura is all hands-on deck helping the awesome new members of our familia to train, prepare, and learn everything there is to know about awesome Mexican food.

But that’s not all Laura and her team does. She’s also one of the many reasons that Mad Mex is great for your career! Mad Team squad members are selected from across the network, after having proven themselves as a perfect fit and driver for our company values. We bring them in from all levels of the business – from the floor staff, including the luchador servers, through to the business managers and the franchisees.

In doing this we have provided the opportunity for our best talent to grow within the organisation, and this has led to an acceleration of their roles and careers (and don’t forget, if all this sounds great to you, we are always looking for new staff, so be sure to check out our careers page!).

Laura herself came to us after having a lot of experience with other food and restaurant groups, and she tells that this system we have here is the best in the business. With a formal process in place with training plans, policies, procedures, acting like a centre of excellence, we make sure that not only is every new Mad Mex store able to succeed and thrive, but everyone feels like they’re part of the familia, right from day one.

We look forward to surprising you with our next big store opening!
