How do I actually enter? Is it a form, social post, or in-app?
You can enter via social posts or via tagging @madmex on Instagram and Facebook, @madmexau on TikTok. Alternatively, you can upload your entry via the form at madmex.com.au/bajafries/submission
Can I enter more than once? Does each entry need to be different?
You can enter as many times as you’d like, but each design has to be unique.
Do I need to purchase anything to enter, or is it free entry?
No purchase is necessary. Entry is free.
Do I have to be 18+? Can my kid enter their idea?
The promotion is open to Australian residents aged 15 and over (excluding South Australia residents). If you're under 18, you'll need permission from a parent or guardian.
How is the winner picked? Judged or drawn at random? Who judges it? Is it who is the "maddest" about creativity or just being the biggest/weirdest? What's the judging criteria?
This is a game of skill, with winners selected by a judging panel from Mad Mex. The panel is made up of Mad Mex representatives, including Founder and CEO Clovis Young and selected members of the Mad Mex team. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, and the overall quality of the idea and execution. When it comes to what "maddest" means, it's not necessarily about being the biggest or weirdest, the judges are looking for the most creative, original, and entertaining ideas. Simply put, smart beats big.
What exactly do I win? Is my package actually put on the menu, or is it just a voucher/cash?
The overall winner receives $20,000 cash, while the next 100 best entries each receive a year's supply of Baja Fries (two small serves per week for 12 months). It's worth noting that while the judges are looking for ideas that inspire the future of Mad Mex, having your design featured on packaging is not guaranteed as part of the prize.
