Hughie Vaughan
Introducing FFFL athlete Hughie Vaughan. Hughie is from Bateau Bay on the NSW Central Coast and is a representative of the North Shelly Boardriders (NSB) Club. He started surfing at two years of age, following his three older brothers into the water. Amazingly he was surfing before he could swim, so he surfed with a ‘bubble’ on his back. He won his first comp, with that same bubble on his back, in 2012.
From there his achievements have only grown. He won the Duke Kahanamoku Award for the outstanding surfer from any division at Australian titles 2018. He was also Australian Champion in 2018, State Champion in 2017 and 2019.
